Colour Doppler

A Doppler ultrasound is a diagnostic technique used to measure the blood flow via your blood arteries. It uses high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to measure the blood flow. It helps to find out whether you have a disorder that blocking your blood flow.

If you have reduced blood flow or a heart disease, your cardiologist will ask you to take a Colour Doppler test. Symptoms of peripheral arterial disease like numbness in your legs, cold feeling in your lower foot or leg, change in color of your leg or leg cramping, etc., call for this test.

The ultrasound technician or your doctor will apply gel on your chest and slide over the transducer on the chest. You may hear pulse-like sounds during the test. The sound waves are recorded and converted into images. The whole procedure takes around 30-60 minutes. Color Doppler test is a risk-free procedure.
